The Old Slavic calendar (Krugolet) is built on the ancient hexadecimal system of calculation, 16 years of the Krugolet pass through 9 Elements, creating the Circle of Life, which has 144 years. The beginning of Years of the Circum-Golet falls on the day of the Autumnal Equinox. On this day, the great ancient holiday New Year began. The full Solar Circle was divided into three periods of time - Autumn, Winter and Spring, and when combined they give a solar circle - Summer. Summer lasts 365.25 days, so 15 Years is 365 days each, and the 16th Summer is 369 days, that is, 4 days are added to the 16th Summer. This periodicity is called the Circle of Years (15 simple + 1 Sacred Summer = 16 Years), and passing through the figurative nine elements create a periodicity of 144 Years - the Circle of Life (16 * 9 = 144).

The widespread use of the ancient Slavic Calendar ceased in 1700, when Peter I introduced a foreign calendar. The week was shortened to seven days, and the number of months in the year increased and their names changed.

Our project invites you to explore the ancient Slavic calendar and its applications, to try to feel its cycles and dimensions. At the moment, the minimum information on the calendar values is provided. We actively listen to our users and want to develop the project together with them.
